Religious Places in Varkala
Varkala is a small greenery town but a very significant tourist place for Indian and Foreign Tourist vacationers as well as a religious location for Hindus. Varkala is the only location in Kerala where one can find Cliffs adjacent to the Arabian ocean. These tertiary sedimentary formation cliffs are exclusive geological feature and is renowned among geologist as Varkala Formation and a Geological monuments as announced by the Geological Survey of India.There are many water sports and spa on the sides of these red rock cliffs. The temple has an ancient chime taken from a shipwreck, donated by the captain of Dutch ship which sank beside Varkala without causing any casualties.

The hilltop mausoleum of Sree Narayana Guru is one of the most well known monuments in Kerala. The adjacent hill house the East-West University of Brahmavidya and Sree Narayana Gurukulam.
